Right, the time is honestly drawing close now,
I got the suitcases all out and ready and I am starting to pack today. Figuring out how many days of clothing I should take with and making sure I remember everything for everyone. My trip has so many pieces and purposes, I need to think carefully to avoid leaving something important behind.
I also decided to make a trip into town to shop for some last minute souvenirs. I am staying and meeting up with lots of people, and would like to leave something and say “thank you” in a special way. Because it is a Monday, I decided to make use of the nice autumn/winters day and “beat” the parking charges by cycling in to town with my bicycle. Even in the middle of winter, I still enjoy Christchurch and feel privileged to be able to call it my home.
After what felt like strolling around for hours, I think I got most of the things on the list. Took a walk through the botanical gardens on the way back home, before sidestepping the traffic and cycling back home during peak hour. Don’t get me wrong, I am excited about most of my upcoming trip but I am going to miss this place, and my home while I am away.
