Another hot, flying day in Annecy.

Continuing the trend with another day of flying,

My host Francine was kind enough again to give me a lift to Talloires, to the other side of the lake this morning.  I had a little time before my bus came, so I stopped at the bakery for a (couple) of chocolate croissants for the Haaikie.  It was predicted to be very hot again today, so I started at Planfait launch site for a quick morning flight – less walking required up the hill.

After landing, I took the bus back up the hill to Montmin and launched once conditions improved a little bit.  Climbed out slightly above the rest of the crowd, but didn’t follow the big boys to climb above the peaks of the hills yet… still a little scared, feeling conditions out as a go.  Some sections were very bumpy, so my nerves needed a little calming.

I loaded bits from yesterday’s videos to my YouTube channel.  FloatingPhil.
My camera was set in a silly position today, so only one small snippet of me arriving very high at Planfait landing.  I was thinking about crossing the lake, but decided not to.

    • Pretty good, but it gets better if I can scratch the courage together to climb out of the valley. Let see, I still have a week or so left here. So relaxing.

  1. I wish I could join you there. It looks fantastic. Is the demo wing a Skywalk? Just caught a glimpse of the wing on the second clip when you landed, and it looked quite busy. Almost warrants air traffic control!

    • You know how this place is… pretty special and I wish you could be here. Yes it was a Skywalk Arak 2. I struggle to find demo wings in my size, everything here is small and ultra light weight. I am getting so hot in my pod harness, I have to fly with my legs outside. LOL
