Yes, another gypsy day… and why do I have so much stuff?

I was up early this morning, the Hamster got a feeling that this could potentially be a looong day.  I showered, packed the final things into my crammed suitcases and cleaned the kitchen.  I was ready to go ahead of time (no surprise) and realised that it was perfect to go down to the lake one last time, to say goodbye and do a walking meditation while on the way there and back.  I have not been meditating regularly, but I am in such a good mindset here and it is remarkable how quickly I can drop into it when I do.

Close to 9am, the trek started, with one of my hosts giving me a lift into Annecy town (bus station) itself, saving me my first bus trip.  This was a great start to my day saving me time and effort.  My hosts are such kind and generous people and cannot thank them enough for inviting me to France and letting me stay in their home.  I had an awesome post-retreat time in Annecy, flying, swimming, relaxing and remaining totally “unwind”.  Thank you, thank you, thank you R&F… I will remain forever in your debt.  My second bus trip took me back to Geneva airport where I transferred onto train to Zurich central station.  I booked a 1st class ticket for the train trip because it was almost 3 hours in duration and didn’t have the strength to potentially sit with screaming kids in stuffy coaches with passengers getting on and off at every stop.  Wow, really impressed with the Swiss rail, the trains look awesome and the timing is immaculate, not to mention the space in 1st class.

The train trip was to be, as expected, great in every sense of the word.  No delays, everything running on time and the scenery out the window something to remember.  Passing (swiftly) besides lakes and through villages and towns.  I tried to capture some nice pictures, but it is fast moving and the phone is always too far away when something awesome “flies” past the window.  Lots of agricultural land, stuffed with everything from sunflowers and grain feed to vineyards and greenhouses filled with vegetables.
One of my new hosts, here in Switzerland, met me at Zurich central train station to accompany me on my final two tram rides to their home outside the city.  It was so sweet of her to help me with my “stuff” and show me the city out the window of the tram.  Zurich seems BIG and old and steeped in history, everywhere you look.  I am so excited.  Once home and after catching up a little, I made a quick walk up the hill to a local lookup point, just to take in my environment and connect with Switzerland, my home for the next couple of days.  Beautiful.

    • Dit was actually, en ook baie makliker as wat ek gedink het om eerlik te wees. Trein ry is so maklik as die netwerk goed werk soos in Switserland, geen check-in en waiting around en boarding en stuff.
