Trying to stay in touch with the world while sharing my adventure, posting some photographs and recording my thoughts.

Progress again, after the week of up’s and down’s.

Trying to end the week in a strong position before breaking away,

After what happened late yesterday, we decided that it could only be the differential oil that caused it to lock up.  We changed the oil in the differential three-ish weeks ago after dad replaced a gasket to (you have guessed it) fix a leak.  LOL.  We calculated last night that the “new” oil we poured into the differential might have also been 40 years old.  So, we managed to find “new new” oil late yesterday evening and dad replaced it today.  This morning the differential was fine again, so it was obviously when the temperature increased while it was working that caused it to lock up..

Then we took the Ford for a functional brake test at the local traffic department on the rollers this morning.  She did very well and passed with flying colours, apart from the parking brake working but being a little misaligned.  She actually passed and her brakes is technically in a roadworthy state, apart from the master cylinder leak.  This was more great news and enough of the car for today...

I left the car and Ceres for the weekend to break away to the hot springs in Citrusdal for some well deserved R&R.  I made a stop in Piketberg for some supplies and capturing a couple of photographs of the church before pushing on to The Baths.

  1. They just do not build churches like this anymore..
You only really find them in very small towns in SA..

Just absolutely gorgeously mysterious with an amazing background view “-)
