And in between a whole lot of government departments,

We were up early this morning, starting and reversing out the Fairmont to prepare for the drive to Worcester.  We needed to correct the (typo) on the engine number of the traffic department documents as well as get a new VIN issued for the car.  Back in the day when this Ford was first registered, vehicle identification numbers did not exist.  To do all of this, we need to pay a visit to the Police Theft Investigation department a in Worcester today.  They are only in Worcester on certain days so we wanted to be there first, 7:30am, so it was time to get going.  Dad took the Ford (because it is still insured if he drives) and I took dad’s ute (also a Ford… LOL) to follow behind.

It is not like we did not trust the Fairmont, we simply needed a different vehicle to return to Ceres with, so I took the ute.  We left the car at an exhaust system specialist in Worcester to make some minor changes and modifications.  We want to ensure the V8 gets to sound like it should and so we left it in Worcester for a couple of days.  All in all, it was a successful day with the government staff and private businesses helping us out during every step of the way.  Thanks.  It was remarkable how most people took a second look when we drove by, are wanting to chat when they see the Fairmont parked somewhere.  It seems like if the traffic light is red for too long, my dad might get hooked into a conversation about the Fairmont, such a classic car.

We returned to Ceres after a successful day in Worcester.  Made a quick stop at the local traffic department to collect some more forms before coming home for a drink to celebrate.  Later dad and I sat down with all the spare parts, starting to categorise, package and list them all, ready for transport.  Things are “ticking” along nicely, and I am thankful.
