It was a great day yesterday, and a late night, so I am taking a little rest,
Lots of thoughts were still stirring in my mind this morning. Meeting “strangers” for a day, just to say goodbye again and possibly not see them (ever) again. This year, while I am on my journey, I paid visits to lots of people in my life… some of them distant acquaintances from the past while sharing truly deep connections with other friends. How do I balance everything, my time and effort, providing what friends expect and need vs getting what I want from a visit as well. It is indeed a fine balance and requires thought, especially when my time in South Africa is running out. I wish I could spend more time, with certain friends as well as in South Africa. I wish things could have been different…
I made it back to Ceres in time this morning while the braai fire was still going. Dad already had a drink in his hand, so I had to catch up a little. Mom and my sister joined us too and we could while the time away, outside, under the umbrella, waiting for the fire to get ready for the braai. A great time for conversation, time to catch up on things from the past two weeks and relax.
After lunch, a late-ish lunch, I took a well deserved nap… and then I turned over later and took another nap, until almost 7pm. After all the commotions of Saturday I really needed to catch up on zzz’s. Tomorrow is another day and will be back to work while today remains a lazy Sunday.

That’s why they call it Sunday-rest day ‘-) –
I did pretty much the same surfing on the couch with a long afternoon nap ..
Also wish you had more time in SA …
Time stops for no one and it is in·ev·it·able that you have to return to NZ – your home now ‘-)
ps: Depeche Mode – Get the Balance Right “-) (alternative just btw “-) )
Glad you managed to get some sleep as well. You deserve it too after a looong week and a late night.
