Nothing like a braai with friends,
Thanks to some awesome friends, I was invited to a “braai” tonight. Turns out, it was arrange to be my farewell/good luck with my trip kind of braai. Cannot thank you guys(and girls) enough.
Even though it was extremely windy and cold, the guys were hard-core braaiers and got the job done. Admitting that it took a little longer than expected + everything was not perfect, but it is all about the atmosphere and the experience.
Not sure what it is, but there is inherently something satisfying about spending time with great friends and family around the fire.
Thanks to all of you that were there and the gifts. Perhaps some of you will join me on a section of the Te Araroa, closer to home, in the near future.
