Learning to understand the conditions better,
I started at Montmin today, waiting a little bit for conditions to improve. I ended up launching a bit too early and after scratching around for a while I ended up at the bottom landing. It took a fair amount of time to get back up the hill, so many pilots wanted to go up and by the time I got to launch, it was very “busy” in the sky.
On my second flight I didn’t fare much better… I didn’t feel comfortable a so eventually ended up at the bottom again. Packed all my gear, made a quick stop at the grocery store and went home, calling it a day for flying. I made some nice sandwiches, grabbed my towel plus Kindle and went to the lake for a swim and a read. It is so nice here, how am I ever going to leave?
Thunderstorms rolled in again tonight, not much rain but the temperature is cooling down.
