Backcountry,
Today was a nice day for walking out there. The scenery is changing to more backcountry tussock with smaller pieces of forest in between. The weather is improving and becoming more predictable as I travel north, the rivers larger and the forests a little less muddy.
This is really backcountry, with no roads, no cellphone coverage and almost no people… time to really think about things. Giving the Hamster the opportunity to do some deep cleaning up in my head. Pickup the old papers of the floor and get the filing cabinet truly up to date.
I want to say almost no infrastructure too, but then you come across this surprise, just as you near the hut you are staying in for the night.
Staying at Aparima hut tonight. This hut, like many others are named after the river they are close to, or in the catchment area of. Can you spot the hut in the photo below?
