Back from Wanaka.

We could only stay for one night unfortunately,

We cleared out of our nice AirBNB this morning to, hmmm… less nice weather.  Stopping off at THE Wanaka tree before grabbing a cooked breakfast in town.  The lake is simply magical if you ask me and my heart still skips a beat every time I visit.  Collected more Geocaches and then headed around the corner for a trip up the mountain.
We took the road up to Treble Cone ski field to go and have a nice look at the scenery from above.  Dodging a couple of spots of rain and the local livestock.  Rian was in the hot seat and had to get out to open (and close) gates for us.
Afterwards we made a stop at the bike park (Velo) for a coffee before setting the GPS (Auntie), pointing towards Lake Tekapo.  We tried to keep ahead, in front of the rain, but it caught up with us while we were at the hot pools in Lake Tekapo, soaking our worries away.
Onwards and upwards…  Back home to Christchurch before dark.  Perhaps we were scared we might turn into a pumpkin if we didn’t, LOL.  We witnessed some good (fun) on State Highway one, some drivers just cannot wait and tailgating a police car will never be a good idea…  aaah BMW drivers are indeed a special “breed”.  All in all another great day and thankful to make it home in one piece after driving 1030km in two days.
