Back to work, working on the Ford.

So, with the flying holiday over… it was back to work,

It was a late-ish start for me today, after doing a little round in town to collect essentials and things.  Dad completed a lot of work on the car while I was away and I had to catch up with things that I needed to complete.  First of which, was fitting the RPM meter back that I “fixed” yesterday.  While I was installing that, dad fitted the new brake master cylinder onto the freshly painted brake booster (a job we completed yesterday as well).

Things were tracking along nicely, until the electricity went out.  Ugh.  We bled the air out of the brake system and I completed some other small things, like fitting a dash light bulb.  Dad and I started talking and planning the loading of the car and getting it to Cape Town where it will be loaded into a container.  The loading date is not cast in stone yet, but we are making preparations.  We poured a drink and chatted as the sun went down, and the lights remained unfortunately… off.

I have interesting feelings about tomorrow, going back to Worcester and the school the I matriculated from in 1999… It will be the first time in a long time (25 years) that I have seen some of those faces.  I am excited and anxious all at the same time, but will work it all through and should be ready for tomorrow.  I am sure that each and every one of us are a legend, and hero, and have achieved something spectacular.  (me included).  I should remember that…

  1. No rest for you it seems ..
Like I said in the previous post – soon all this will be over – you will be back home and indulge in some chuckles on the couch ‘-)

Ugh for the electricity that went out … in SA we all know what that feels like!
