Bazaar, Hermanus (Sandbaai), and a little different work.

It is the weekend and time for a little “exhale”,

It was a bit of a “festive” start this morning, joining mom to go to the bazaar that the one of the local retirement homes in Ceres arranged in an attempt to raise some money.  We delivered some “melkterte” (for those not in the know… click here: milk tarts) that mom baked as well and shopped a little for some other sweet things too “devour” on the weekend.  I could feel the Haaikie’s nose poking out the side of my stomach, trying to reach some of the sweet tables, but the Hamster was very strict.  There were some other things to see and do as well, but mostly eat… with the fires going early on.  I instantly got a flashback emotion from the retreat, experiencing what it feels like to be surrounded by likeminded people.  A real sense of community, coming together, doing something good with a great vibe and spirit.  What a nice experience…

Afterwards we, (dad, mom and I) drove to my parents holiday home in Sandbaai, Hermanus.  We made a quick stop in Worcester, for some car supplies and tools, followed by a stop in Villiersdorp for some well deserved lunch.  Great to see and experience the countryside.

After arriving in Sandbaai, there was no time to wait… or correction, there was no time to wait after eating some of the bazaar cake.  LOL.  We came with a primary mission to do a little gardening maintenance, mostly mowing the lawn and also to meetup with my sister.  We all “jumped in” and soon after the garden was done.  I actually enjoy mowing the lawn for a change, since I realised that I have probably not mowed lawn in the past 5 years (while mowing the lawn).  My home in NZ does not have any lawn and that is by design and choice.  Dad and I made a quick stop to the shops before he dropped me off at the beach, for a quiet sit down reflection and taking it all in.  The weather was changing and the wind cold, but I needed the “alone time”, reflection and relaxation.
