No flying today unfortunately, the weather is wild,
There is a huge (possibly more than one) weather system coming through Cape Town today and tomorrow… possibly Monday. Clint started the day early by watching the All Blacks win Australia on the other side of the world. This morning was not too cloudy, only windy, so we hit the road for a trip around the peninsula shortly after the game finished. We drove down past Kirstenbosch with a quick stop in Muizenberg. After that all the way down to Simon’s Town (stopped at the lookout) and a quick stop at Boulders Beach.
We travelled a little further towards Cape Point, but the weather started closing in with high winds and rain. Everything greyed out, so we made our way back through Scarborough, Kommetjie and in ever worsening conditions by the time we reached Hout Bay. It was not a total “bust” day, but I hope the weather system passes through quickly so that we can get back to flying.
Back home, we stopped for a burger (at what use to be a great burger place unfortunately) and made it home just in time to watch the Springbok’s win against Argentina on TV. I am fairly tired from being out with a friend on Friday night, so I am hitting my bed with a thud, hoping for better conditions tomorrow.
