Cape Town International… Airport.

A sad and surreal day,

Clint and I was up early, getting things ready, loading Monty and moving out of our accommodation.  We were on our way to the airport, a sad day to be honest.  How do I summarise this increadable holiday, after two weeks… surreal, absolutely surreal.  I ended up being very emotional but Clint managed well, or at least managed to hide it well.  I little part of me wanted to fly back home with him, but I have to finish the work that I have started.  I wish I could stock up on 5 bags of “Chuckles”, start a season for Friends and just waste the day away, at home, in Christchurch on my couch in the living room.

Soon after, my sister came to collect me, and we made a couple of stops in town before collecting her cat in Wellington and heading to Ceres.  Feeling a little dizzy, having to get back in sync with my parents place, catching up on everything that happened and did not happen in Ceres.  Where did all the time go.  Feeling a little lost and a lot of homesick.  Soon Phil, soon you will be back in Christchurch.

Tomorrow it is back to work on the car and Saturday is my school reunion, so I have to get back in a working gear and get things done.  Holiday is over, exhale…

    Soon Mr Phil ‘-)

I was even “sad” to say goodbye to Clint – so can imagine the “cocktail of emotions” for both of you ..
Happy to see Clint is at “home sweet home”

    • Yep, was not sure I was ready for everything that headed my way. I made plans for the final 2 weeks of my time in South Africa today and the emotions are getting real.

  2. Several times in my life I have experienced what I refer to as “a cocktail of emotions”, and this day was no different.
So much was experienced in the two weeks that we shared together, that it will probably take just as long to try and ‘unpack’ it all.
Not now though. After travelling for two days and very little sleep, I’m a wee bit tired.
