The weather was really strange, filled with strong easterly winds today,
We were up early, but decided to take a step back and not even try to fly today. I slid in behind my computer and did a little paperwork while Clint did some sorting through photographs. I caught up with a couple of things, but mostly completing tasks surrounding the shipping of the car. Made sure that the shippers and I are all on the same page and everything is set for the 17th of October.
Clint and I also went out for a late breakfast / brunch to allow me time to print, complete and scan some forms at the local copy shop. It feels like a little waste of good “holiday” time, but I just have to trust that it is all worth the effort in the end. Hopefully we can fly another day.
One of the websites I visited frequently today belongs to the New Zealand Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI). They are one of the departments I am dealing with regarding the import of the vehicle and mostly concerned that I am importing other things (like pests and plants) that New Zealand really doesn’t need. Their web developers were really good, because even the “404” page are nicely updated with an MPI related joke.
As requested… a link to our holiday song that we have been blasting while driving in “Monty” (<-The rental car we have on this trip) here: The Chieftains – Changing Your Demeanour.

The Chieftains – Changing Your Demeanour – okey then ‘-))
MPI related joke – hehe
Quite the process with da CAR – phew!
It is indeed one way to change your demeanor… listening to that song.
That MPI page is priceless, and in some way portrays what NZ is all about.
Okay done, page updated with our holiday song.
Holiday time needs to accommodate ‘real life’ too. There’s no escaping the ongoing demands on our time. We can ignore stuff on our holiday but pay the price later, so well done us for taking some time to catch-up and chillout. You should provide a link to our holiday song from the Chieftans! That will put a smile on everybody’s dial – guaranteed.
I am enjoying our time together even if we are not flying as much as we want to. Sometimes I think we are ‘brothers’ from a different mother.
