Turning inland, away from the ocean,
After having a fairly dry night of tenting in Colac Bay, the heavens decided to open up this morning. I had to wait till 11am to get the first break in the rain before I could set off for the mountains. Beautiful forests filled with birds and other ferns and things.
The weather played a part in my slow going by turning the path into a mud pit. You could not dodge it all, and in the end I had to embrace the fact that I am knee deep, covered in mud. To my surprise, someone left some welcoming ‘trail magic’ along the way, a cooler box filled with soft drinks… and the big boy kind, non of the sugar free nonsense.
