Back on the trail, or actually road today,
Yes, most of today was road walking, or some kind of road edge with little paddocks and pieces in between. My journey started on the bus in Palmy taking me to the edge of town where I stopped walking the trail yesterday. The weather seemed warm, but it was because lots of grey clouds were trapping in the heat and the rain would certainly follow later… which it did.
I arrived in (“Friendly” as the locals seems to think) Feilding early, covering the kilometers fairly easy today and staying ahead of “that wet stuff falling from the sky”. I paused my track log and peeked into the Coach House Museum for a bit. They have an impressive collection of coaches, farm implements and machinery on display, exhibiting what this area looked liked in the past.
Afterwards I dropped my backpack at my accommodation for the night and explored the town a little. Very agriculture driven with a huge stockyard almost right in the centre of town. It is a cute place and I have no evidence to suggest that it is not friendly or beautifulfor that matter. I managed to find some more local art that I sent home to remember Feilding by and stopped at a sweet shop… because the Haaikie was losing it after sitting through art galleries.
Coming back to my accommodation… I am feeling very privileged and grateful today. I am staying with what the TA refers to as a “Trail Angel”. (<-Have to make sure here that I am not writing angle…) While it is raining ouside, I am sleeping warm and dry in Tim and Abby’s sleepout, in the back of their house. Arranging accommodation in Feilding was difficult and very far away from the trail… so thanks to them, I am having a great time. More Kiwi hospitality to be proud of. The best thing about this stay, I even have a big fluffy pillow to put between my knees when going to bed… Wow, and thank you again.

LOL – “Would like to see you… back on a farm. Maybe there will be lots of drinking (potentially day drinking)”
Ai tog – Poor Haaikie ‘-)
No need for “poor Haaikie”… it is going far too well down there.
earphones in today – music always helps me focus – as you know it is a pretty big part of my life ..
The farm implements made me think back to my time on a farm – many many years ago ..
Did Haaikie just lose it or did he lose his “shit” – LOL
Looking at the pics – I would not think that there would be Art Galleries (even though in most towns there are) – will be watching this space for art pics ..
Pillow Fluffy muchness ‘-)

The Haaikie just lost it, that fact that we are checking in to all these places and none of them has food.
