Time for the top coat(s),

Right, so it is back to completing the spray job today.  Checked the flat black primer coat this morning and it really looks good and solid.  After a little bit of preparation, I sprayed the next coat, checked things and then sprayed the final top coat to get the finish I was looking for.  I was hoping for a nice smooth finish through which you can still see the grain of the wood-“finish”.  Spent some time in the garage while the paint was drying and then started the painstaking breakdown/cleanup process.  First removing the spray booth followed by very, very carefully removing the masking around the shelf… without disturbing the paint job.

Again, I am impressed at the outcome.  It pays to take the time to get things right from the start and use good tools and high quality paint.  Wow, very chuffed with myself.
In between and after the painting I gave my garage a thorough clean as well.  It is so close until I leave on my international trip, everything I touch now needs to be good to go, or stay.  I will probably not have time to come back to it again before I leave.  Got rid of a few things, made sure everything else had a space and even vacuumed and washed the floor.  There is also enough space for the new car… even though that is months away.
