So close I can almost smell it,
It is final gear checking time, followed by extensive weighing of every single item and questioning its existence in my pack. It is so easy to over pack and I know I will be thinking while going up the mountain… why did I pack this much.
It is an incredible journey trying to fit everything you need for existence in one ~12kg backpack. You should try it perhaps, because it makes you realise how much stuff you have, followed by how many of those are considered luxuries or advertising/impulse buys.
Water, food and shelter are the primary ones followed by hygiene, communication and what to do in case of emergencies. That is it, simple.
