Finalising dates and bookings for the TA.

While my guests are off visiting other friends of theirs,

I dropped off my guests in Ashley late last night so that they could catch up with some other people too.  This gives me the opportunity to do some “work” today… getting things done before my trip.  I mapped out the last sections of my next Te Araroa stint (until Christmas) and completed my spreadsheet.  This includes all the accommodation bookings and how much food I need and when.  Feeling good about it and also getting excited… with a little anxiety in the mix.

I started packing my backpack, all according to my (other) spreadsheet, carefully weighing everything to make sure I do not “overpack”… dragging along too much weight.  It is going to be tough the first couple of days and I need to keep things sleek and as lightweight as possible.  Food is making the list too, and I am getting my “bounce boxes” ready as well.

It is starting to feel real… very real to be honest.

  1. Very real indeed – just around the corner …
You did not have as much time as last to prep – but you seem to be doing OK and at least you have already done this exercise – so I hope it is a bit “easier” to prep all this time round – seeing that you also have spreadsheets, etc in place ‘-)

The “little anxiety in the mix” –
I’m guessing – for one .. is because you are very near to reaching the “full circle” of your sab·bat·ic·al, among other things – it is to be expected ..

    • Thanks Urvi. I guess I will be okay… just need to focus on the list and what gets done will get done and the rest will be left behind.
