I want to say OMG,

Seriously, no words or photos can describe the spectacular beauty being back here between the majestic mountains and the feelings and emotions they bring to life. Simply wow, on so many levels. Can you spot Roses hut in the photo below? And in the background you can see the mountain I crossed to get there from MaceTown to give you a sense of  scale.

Such a tough day ahead, again a cold and frosty start, glad I was in a hut and not tenting. Got out early, climbing the first mountain peak of the day in the shade of the mountain, while the dew was still frost. Amazing views, breathtakingly beautiful.

Then it was all the way down into the river followed by the next, equally BIG up. Another 550 vertical meters, this time while the day was a little warmer.
I made it, in good time actually and looking back I could see the 3 mountains I crossed, and looking forward, the one that laid ahead.
But before I take on the next one, time to go all the way down again, back to the same altitude I started the day, in time to stay in the next hut, Highland Creek Hut.
This place is magical, surrounded by towering hills all around. You can only get here by walking or a helicopter. So special, and such special feelings to be here. The hills are truly alive with the sound of nothing, yes, nothing else is needed.

If you love the mountains, put Highland Creek Hut on your bucket list.

    • The hut is more or less in the centre, to the right of the ridge. It took me a while to see it too.
