Finding other things I like doing,
In an attempt to shift my social boundaries, I decided end of last year to take up some additional hobbies and volunteer work. One of the things I did was to join the Canterbury Amateur Radio Club and did a course to earn my Radio Operator’s Certificate of Competency. After the course there were unfortunately issues with my visa and residency at the time, but I am pleased to say they have all been resolved. I am technically competent now to chat on the radio and even have my own registered call sign – ZL3 OWL (Oscar, Whisky, Lema. The problem now… being home and using it, hmmmm.
Went paragliding as well today, and feeling differently about this, shall I call it hobby or sport, as well. Amazing how much of it is muscle memory, I have been flying for 10 years now. Taylor’s Mistake had a small-ish window to fly this morning before the North-westerly winds started to show up. Snapped a nice photo of Clint coming in for landing on his final flight of the day.
