I little bit of flying.

And getting on with things while the sun was out,

Today was this first time I flew since November last year… in South Africa… with Clint.  Wow.  Amazing how time just goes by without noticing when you are busy, or having fun.  It was not predicted to be an epic day at Taylor’s Mistake, but I got everything together and went early in the hope that I can at least shake out some of the cobwebs from my wing.  I managed to remember how to pull the wing up and steer it, enough to make the first flight of the day, maintain and top land.

It was very thermic and “playful” in the sky… and so I decided to call it a day while watching some of the other (more experienced) pilots fight and struggle to maintain.  Missing my regular wingman on launch as well, but I realise that he (unfortunately) has a life of his own too.  I didn’t feel like it was worth the effort or risk to fly, so a returned home soon after lunch.

I stopped at the hardware store on the way back to pick up some gardening and landscaping supplies before heading home to sit down for a meditation with Emily.  All in all, a relaxing 2nd day of the year.

  1. I will never tire of the view you shared of Taylors Mistake and will soon be back on launch (the office) and ready for some ‘foot launch free flying’ with my wing-man. (next week)

  2. Gosh.. Time did really fly at High Speed!
It really feels like yesterday when I spent the day in Hermanus with You and Clint..
    Will never forget it..

Nice to see you got some flying done again – even without your regular wingman – he will be back “-)

Here’s still hoping that I will have an opportunity soon ..” -)
