Time to hit the road again,

Rest, replenish and resupply is over, so time to say goodbye to Wanaka. Walked around Mt Iron this time, in the cool shade it was casting in the morning, to the bridge where I cross the Clutha for the last time.
From here onwards I will be walking over or on the banks of the, much faster flowing, Hawea river. Still beautiful scenery and mostly a fine day.
Fairly uneventful day, mostly just getting the kilometers in and over to reach the bottom end of Lake Hawea. Will be tenting here for the night. Not swimming, too cold.
Tomorrow it is back towards the mountains. I have the destination saddle already in sight…

  1. My juvenille humour wants me to ask who left that massive finger on the hillside? Bon voyage Phil.
