Today the new stones are going in,

After laying down some sections of weed-mat, the real tough works started. The shovel was less helpful when it came to working with the larger stones and I had to carry smaller loads.  The stones were also not completely washed, so I had lots of small batch washing to do in buckets, before they were laid down.  I needed a coke or two today to make it through.

Not to mention cleaning up the mud, ugh, but I am proud of my progress.

In other news: I am applying for a Schengen visitors visa for my trip to Europe later this year. I don’t want to trash talk South Africa, the country that I called home for more the 35 years, but the passport does not do me any favors when travelling.  I don’t think Kiwi’s realise how easy they have it, being able to travel almost everywhere on a Kiwi passport for leisure without the need for a visa.  Looks like I will need to make a trip to Wellington too, either to the French or Swiss consulate to go and show my face, have fingerprints taken and get a stamp of approval… hopefully.  More costs too, flying to Wellington, but hopefully a day of a little adventure, unlike my landscaping.
