Checking out some Kiwi… while in Kiwi-land,
Making the most of the final day with my guests, we stopped for coffee before heading to one of the local bird parks in Christchurch. I guess that we should at least see some real Kiwi’s while in Kiwi-land before my guests fly back to Aussie. I must say, after waiting a while for our eyes to adjust to the dark, the Kiwis did not disappoint. Such a nice experience, wow.
Off to the airport then… time went so fast, but I guess it happens when you are having fun. I had a great time hosting my family, and I can only hope that they did too. A very emotional goodbye from my side… suddenly running out of words to say. I honestly suck at saying goodbye and in most cases it just feels like I “bolted”, rather than said goodbye. I think we covered everything, saw a bit of New Zealand and caughtup with each others lives. Until next time… maybe even on the Alps2Ocean trail.
Back at home, my place suddenly felt empty again. The family were a nice distraction and now it is back to the “grind stone”. Laundry, cleaning my home and starting the dishwasher just for a start. Looked at the other household tasks that I needed to complete and decided that finishing the Lego (that the family started) was suddenly a priority as well… Hmmm, interesting feelings to digest.

Why in the dark with the Kiwis?
Kool Lego piece..
Some fun while being domesticated “-)
Special goodbyes are just never easy as we know it..
I also battle with words, most times, in that moment in time…
Kiwi’s are nocturnal, so the habitat enclosure is in the dark. They sleep during the day.
Yes, any goodbyes is hard for me.
