Lower Princhester Hut – Day 11

Feeling a little refreshed,

After arriving “early” around 3pm at Aparima Hut yesterday, I had time to do the laundry, dry my shoes, dry and repack my tent as well as backpack and spend a little time making dinner.  The effect of all this is that I am up early and geared for the 17km today including the three hills I need to cross.

There is some patchy clouds around and a spit or two of rain, but overall a nice cool day for a hike with the occasional stream crossing, just when your feet are getting dry.

I know I am posting lots of landscape photos, but it is breathtakingly beautiful here and very hard to capture the true state of it all using my silly phone.
I tried so many times to photograph the birds in the woods, but it just isn’t worth posting. Even though the birds are so tame and inquisitive, they come so close to me, trying to photograph them using my phone is a lost cause. One of the most common small birds I have come across in the forest here is the Rifleman, and I included links to other places that captured them with respect. Google YouTube
The mushrooms are also inspiring, seeing all the shapes and colours they come up with, seemingly out of thin air.  Purple, red and orange are popular and then this one that likes the brown with black pinstripe detailing.

I’m sure you are taking in each and every little precious detail!
A photo can never really do justice as to what eye sees.

    • Yes Urvi, I will keep posting and yes, things are like WOW. I hade a quick look, the 2024 TA route is 3028km and I am walking backwards, currently at the 2806km marker. So 222km done so far.
