This is the calm before the (next) storm,
Dad and I did most of the final checks today, walking through the next little bit of the export process to make sure everything is crossed off the list. Both of us like to know what is coming our way and prepare for as many unforeseen problems as possible. I also made personal plans for the next little bit, planning to go back to Cape Town on Monday to meet and greet the people I have not had the luxury of meeting just yet. The list is quickly growing… and it will be a full day but I am looking forward to it. Hoping to spend time with my family and sister on the weekend and next Wednesday I am preparing to fly out on Thursday. Only Tuesday is kind of open and then it is “Boef” done.
Dad cleaned the old master cylinder that we removed from the car and I bagged and tagged it with the other spares. We also assembled the faulty (spare) Email alternator produced in Australia. Yes, believe it or not but before “email” there was a company called “Email”. Electricity Meter & Allied Industries Ltd. I got some papers copied and stamped by the SAPS and found a date on one of the exports documents that I did not like. Nothing much I can do now, so we (the shipping company and I) are just going to stay on course and trust it will all work out. I also cleaned and polished the little wash table that is going with. The polish really made the wood shine, very happy with the result.
After sundown, in between some drinks outside with dad, I applied a fresh coat of dark brown polish to the vinyl roof of the Ford. She is looking good in the afternoon shade and I covered her one last time before we move her out tomorrow for the final journey in South Africa… hopefully.

Indeed the “calm” before the storm…
Love the wash table..
Is the car going to be driven to where the container is, or transported on a trailer?
Nope. I am sure if it were up to the 8 “horses” of the Ford, they would have loved to run to Cape Town. In an attempt to keep things clean and tidy, she is going on the back of a trailer.
