Today was another great day on “The Hill” at Taylor’s Mistake,

I have said it recently, that I should get my action camera mounted again on my helmet and take some video’s, so I did.  It is not all perfect (yet), tweaking settings and positioning of the camera, but I took the first video’s while flying today.  The first ones in a very long while.

Taking a step back… when the idea of a “5-Year Diary” was suggested to me last year by Lucille, it was only to write a sentence or three every day for 5 years.  Back then I thought about it, and I felt that it was important to include pictures / photographs as well, so I came up with this idea… FloaingPhil.com.  To be honest, it turned out to be quite a learning curve for me and even if it does not look like much, it is a lot of work maintaining this.  To cut a loooong story short, I do believe this method works for me, even if I am trailing behind sometimes and writing much more than three sentences in a post.  Looking back at my old posts, I can really recall memories in a way that a diary would have not, and sharing it with you all is a bonus.

So, when it comes to video, it gets a little bit more trickier.  My site FloatingPhil.com is not setup well to handle the data I need to store, plus playing back from here is complicated with formats and stuff.  Sure, I like the fact that everyone can enjoy FloatingPhil.com advertisement free and without handing their data over to the brokers, but it is above my “paygrade” to invest in my site becoming a video streaming service.  With all of that said, I have to unfortunately hand you over to Google, and more specifically YouTube.  Yes, I have started my own channel to keep record of my videos. www.youtube.com/@FloatingPhil.  You are welcome to subscribe and like the videos on Youtube, but to be clear, I am not doing it for the money.  I will be posting links to all my videos from here so that you don’t need to go down the “rabbit hole”.

My friend Clint took this one of me, top landing at Taylor’s today.
My video, flying at the cliffs, overlooking Sumner, the estuary and Christchurch before turning to Taylors Mistake beach.
Another helmet camera video from me, flying at the cliffs, trying to get a nice shot of Clint while flying.
