Trying to stay in touch with the world while sharing my adventure, posting some photographs and recording my thoughts.

Saying goodbye to Cape Town.

Things, places and most importantly friends (that I have not seen in a while),

This was an interesting (<-emotionally) and FULL-ON busy day.  It started with me picking up a couple of items that I needed to purchase.  I lost a vacuum attachment from my mom’s holiday house vacuum cleaner that I needed to replace and I needed new headphone cushions for my JBL’s and other things.  I paid a quick visit to an old lecturer of mine too, that is no longer a lecturer… (congratulations on retirement).

Afterwards I met up with a friend from my school reunion to just have a chat, see some of his work and I wanted to collect a photo.  Funny how each of us opted to go in our own direction of life and that other people and information can make us (to a degree) immune to consideration of change.  I am not sure if I need to be worried or not… I hope not.  Sure, we can, and do, all believe in our own “thing” but I can still worry about others.  Overall, it was good to see other people and catch up, even though I could not get to everyone in time.  I felt sad that I had to cancel some appointments that I just could not make but it is what it is.  (On a side note…) I have been walking into every animal/pet-shop on the lookout for a toy to take with to a friend of mine’s dog in NZ.  I couldn’t get my friend in a Springbok jersey while he was here… but maybe I can get his dog in one.  I wonder, it looks very cute???

For dinner, I meet up with an old friend, his wife and their daughter, now heading to high school in the new year.  He introduced me as the “uncle that have only held one baby in his life, you” to his daughter and wow, you know you get old when you see how other people’s children grew up.  I am still processing everything from today: feelings, emotions, memories and information.  I wish I could spend a day with everyone, but it was not set to be.  Bottom line, I still feel privileged to have spent the time with the people that I have managed to met.

  1. Happy you got to meet up with some peeps you have not managed to see prior in SA ..

People like us will always worry about others – it is in our nature ..

    Springbok Jersey very cuteness
    I read Cliff’s comments – hehe ..

    • Very strange feelings, I want to help and worry about someone, but I don’t necessarily want to change who they are or what they believe in. Who knows, maybe they are right and I have it completely wrong.

  2. I hope you realise that threatening our dog with a Springbok jersey is tantamount to animal cruelty! She would be horrified 😉
We know you will be ‘going through the wringer’ now and in the days to come, but you also know you have friends ready and willing to help you navigate the coming days. You have got a heart of gold and a very strong (but turbulent) mind that will get you through this. Bon voyage…
