Very two minded,
There was a dusting of snow on the mountains last night, but the weather today is very inviting to continue on the TA. Go, stay, go, stay, I don’t know, there is some more wet stuff incoming tonight and I have a lot of tenting ahead. I am fearful the luxury of the lodge is holding me hostage, affecting my better judgement… For now however, I am having a little stay-vacation at Lake Ohau Lodge.
I decided to get out on a short but steep walk, up the Lake Ohau ski field road (for a bit, not all the way to the top). It should give me an idea of how my feet are doing, not walking too far, but getting a bit of exercise in for the day.
The rest of the day I spent lounging around, admiring the mountains and looking at the rest of the South Island TA ahead as well as catching up with FloatingPhil. I still have a lot left to do on the TA and the daylight hours are getting noticeably shorter. Winter is coming and the trail is calling.
