Yes, I have the keys to “MY” car in the drawer underneath the kitchen counter,
Feels unreal, but the car is almost on its way from South Africa. With any luck, it might be loaded on the first shipping journey to Singapore later this week. Seriously? When I wrapped the car with dad in Cape Town in October I said: “See you in the land of the long white cloud” but now I am here, and soon it will be too. So, today… I had to make sure that I have made enough space in the garage for the car and the spare parts. I can feel the emotions so easily, thinking about standing in front of my open garage, looking at the nose of the Ford, thinking about the times gone by. I am still not sure where exactly my bicycle will go, but I think it will fit somewhere… right? “Dino” will have to move over a bit in the garage too, since his older sister is on the way. Yes, the Ford is most certainly a “she” and she has a name too, but more about the later.
Then I am busy fixing some other things around the house, things that broke while I was away. Replaced the batteries in the UPS looking after the file server and entertainment system. Still snipping a thing or two in the garden as well and going through all my mail, followed by paying some bills. Ugh.
Since I am still struggling with shaking this jetlag I was up in the early hours of the morning, looking at my computer, organising some things, moving some money from South Africa back to NZ and putting my accommodation for the TA in Wellington together. Yes, I should be back on the trail on the 20th of November and an old friend from “The Leopard” days was kind enough to offer to host me during my time in Wellington. (<-Trying to save some money where I can)
