Trying to stay in touch with the world while sharing my adventure, posting some photographs and recording my thoughts.

Yes, sorry boys and girls, but I am making it official, the end of my blog is drawing near,

I was back at Taylor’s Mistake today in the hope of some more flying.  I am also getting rid of a couple of things around my house that I don’t need anymore, so brought a very special glider with me today.  While waiting for the breeze to build, I played around, kiting a glider that belonged to an old friend of mine.  Clint caught a couple of photo’s of me having fun and saying goodbye to something I do not need to keep anymore.  Time to let go and retire this glider forever.  It is remarkable how I have moved on and the feelings, or lack of certain feelings that I have managed to create.  Living in the moment, in gratitude and knowing what a privilege it is.

I got my real flying gear out later and managed to bag another couple of flights in very thermic and bumpy conditions.  Clint made it to the cliffs but could not maintain on the way back and landed at the bottom.  I didn’t want him to walk up alone, so I launched again and flew down to the bottom.  Lucky for us, Clint managed to secure a lift up the hill for both of us with one of the schools and we didn’t have to walk in the end.  Yay.

Then about the BIG news… yes, I am going to stop writing, or at least publishing it to the general public.  I am very sorry to all of you that are regular readers, but this “thing” is not serving the purpose anymore that I set out in the beginning.  There are a couple of reasons… like I am not very adventurous at the moment and don’t have much to write about, especially since I will be returning to a full time job soon.  I am done with the Te Araroa, it served its purpose and although not complete, I am done.  I also feel the relationship between Skylar and myself is going great and I struggle to write the true feelings and emotions I have about her here on a public forum.  My sabbatical is also drawing to a close and on the 9th of Feb it will be officially a year since I left the Leopard.  I am not sure when exactly, but I will stop writing soon, when it feels right to do so, but the end is near and the decision is made.  For everyone’s information, what I posted here will remain here for at least a while and I will hold on to the domain name at least for a bit.  So you all know where to get hold of me if you like.  To everyone reading this… Thank you, thank you, thank you.
