The real tough goodbyes.

Heading away from Cape Town today,

Saying goodbye to the close ones is always tough.  I knew this was coming and somehow I will never be ready.  Sad, really sad…

There is an Australian film called “Red Dog” that I watched for the first time on a Qantas flight, flying out from Papua New Guinea, after living there, and leaving my cat “Max” behind.  My friend next to me at the time thought I was having a meltdown, having never seen me in a state like that… and looking back at it, I am sure that I was.  I will never ever forget how I felt that day, and somehow today the music of the film is resonating in my heart again, in a BIG way.  Leaving behind a friend, a little piece of my heart and more so a large piece of my soul… in Cape Town while on “The Search”.  If you haven’t watched the movie… do, but make sure you have a friend with you to hug at the end.  I found a segment of the movie and the music “Red Dog – The Search” on YouTube if you think you have the stomach for it.  (<-You have been warned)

Drove back to Ceres… the Hamster in overdrive trying to work through everything that is going on.  Sorting out some final things here and there and trying to go to bed early tonight.  I just want to exhale and say F…

  2. I might watch Red Dog before I come to collect you in the early hours tomorrow morning.
    Deep breathes buddy.

    • Haha, it is a little bit of a comedy too, but I watched during a turbulent time in my life. It is still a beautiful story. “Kia Kaha” I presume.
