What is that saying from the TV series “A-Team”? I love it when a plan comes together,
As we collected the trailer this morning and after a bit of spot cleaning the Ford and her 8 “horses” were loaded on the trailer. We then took some time to even clean her tyres, removing all the stones and debris from the tread, making sure she is spotless before strapping her down for the ride. Wow, all done, ready for the trek to Cape Town tomorrow to be loaded in the shipping container.
Back home, dad and I loaded the ute with the other stuff, starting with the fuel pump and its cast iron foot. Soon the other boxes of car parts were loaded as well and the “household” odd and ends fitted nicely in the rear of the cabin, behind the seats. To be honest, it all fitted nicely and I am happy with how the the ute and trailer are loaded. Not too much stuff and it should all fit in the container okay too.
I made some final calls to the shipping company to ensure everything is ready for tomorrow. They know we are coming and their people will be ready to “host” us in the morning. It feels a little like the night before an exam, or big match, or closing of a project. Lots of tension, but honestly everything that could have been done, is done. I am just trusting in the universe to be on our side… She’ll be alright, right?

“She’ll be right” and hopefully you will get your reward in time for Christmas.
I was about to say that I don’t know anybody else who could achieve what you and your father have done, but then I remembered my great friend in the UK who restores classic motor bikes and manufactures parts in his workshop. It would be amazing if you could meet him one day. He has already visited NZ three times!
This is now more than just a car and will represent so much in your life going forward. Nuff said.
I think that was the plan all along… so so sooo much more than just a car.
Ford and the “8 horses”..
Yes she, this shining beauty, will be alright!
Another precious moment in time!
Yes, the 8 “horses”. I wonder if I will give them names in time.
I don’t wonder, I know you will give them names ‘-)
Like the bunch of reindeer pulling father Christmas’s sled.
