Trying to stay in touch with the world while sharing my adventure, posting some photographs and recording my thoughts.

The weather in Ceres is behaving like I remember it, from way back.

It has been grey, stormy, rainy and windy since yesterday and looked like it will be continuing through today (possibly tomorrow) as well,

That being said, dad and I had to get going early today with lots to do and complete.  We are tentatively thinking of moving the car to a new location on Saturday, one that will make working on the car much easier.  To achieve this, we had to get “cracking”, splitting up to divide and conquer.  Dad and I cleaned the fuel tank for the final time before fitting the fuel tank sensor and soldering back the inlet pipe that was dislodged during cleaning.  I prepared the sealant and fitted the ~80-litre tank back into the boot of the car.  I also installed the rest of the fuel filler pipes as well as connect the fuel hose running to the engine and the wiring to the fuel gauge.  I still need to make a new gasket for the fuel filler cap, but that is a job for later tonight at home.  Time to get “crafty”  Lets call the fuel system done, right?

In the meanwhile, dad worked on the differential, fitting the side driving shafts and inspecting the seals one more time before closing it all up.  Checking the rear brake components (work he generously completed while I was travelling in Europe earlier this month) and fitting the drums.  The car remains on stands still, because we would like to perhaps start the engine (for the first time in a long while) tomorrow.

Once all of this was done, we did a couple of other small jobs.  Fitting a new set of spark plug leads and making a list of things to get and bring tomorrow, in preparation for starting the engine.  It felt like a good and productive day, lets hope we have more of these in the future.
