Still strong winds predicted today, but we have the wings in the car, ready to go,
We drove into town this morning, ready to fly at Signal Hill if it would be so kind to turn “on”, but thinking more touristy stuff for the day. Suddenly it turned out to be a scorcher of a day but Clint and I were determined to “knock” one thing off the “must do” list when you visit Cape Town. Going up to the top of Table Mountain in the cable car. The queue looked long, but okay… but to find a parking was borderline ridiculous with us parking in the spaces close to where the path to walk up start.
We joined the queue, purchased tickets online and not so soon-ish later we were in the car and going up. I forgot what a nice experience this is, and how close to paragliding this feels, being whisked up the mounting while the floor is turning more than 360 degrees. Lots of people, and school children, in the car with us, but I just focused on Clint having a good spot by the window to see out of. WOW stunning views and the wind… wait, what wind? The wind was calm and the view beautiful.
Clint pointed out a couple of things (after I asked for an action photo LOL) while we walked around, keeping a close eye on Signal Hill, to ensure nobody was flying. It was also great to see the city bowl from above, and I got a little flaky, thinking about the good-old-times I had on top of table mountain in the past, when I still called Cape Town my home. I spent a couple of Thursday “date nights” here with a very special friend.
Beautiful day, blue skies and little wind… what more could we ask for… not sunburn please. I had to put my jersey back on, just to cover my arms and not because it was cold. We walked to the end of the first section and went back down after finishing a drink and enjoying the last of the views.
Back at the bottom, we checked out Signal Hill (still over the back) and decided to skip afternoon traffic and “return to base”.

Being on Top of Table Mountain never grows old or boring
I always have special memory moments that I rem·in·isce about – Table Mountain does that ‘-)
Sure. There was a couple of very special (deep breath) moments.
Ahem… I was made aware of the fact that I need to point out in credits if the photograph I am publishing was not the work of my hands. So, correcting this… the third photograph from the top was taken by Clint. Happy? LOL
